​LazyLiz — Terms of Service (ToS)

1. Parties and Acceptance

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a legally binding agreement between Ege Ferhat Kıymaz, located in Türkiye (the “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), and you (“you,” “your,” or the “user”) governing your use of the LazyLiz mobile application and related services (the “App”). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. The Service

LazyLiz is an educational app that generates summaries and personalized quizzes from user‑uploaded content using AI, and provides short, gamified study loops (e.g., a mini‑game that surfaces a quiz on every “death”). The App is for personal, educational use unless otherwise authorized in writing by us.

3. Accounts and Security

  • You may sign in with Apple or Google.

  • You are responsible for the accuracy and confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

  • If you suspect unauthorized use, contact us promptly at info@lazyliz.app.

4. Age Requirements

  • The App is not directed to children under 13.

  • Users aged 13–18 should use the App with a parent/guardian’s supervision.

  • App Store/Google Play age ratings are content ratings only and do not alter these legal requirements.
     

5. Subscriptions and Payments

  • Store‑Managed Billing. All subscriptions and in‑app purchases are processed and managed exclusively by Apple App Store and/or Google Play (the “Stores”).

  • Auto‑Renewal. Subscriptions, including any free trial, automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

  • Cancellation. You must cancel via the Store’s subscription management settings. Deleting your App account does not cancel a Store subscription.

  • Free Trials. Free trials may be offered once per Store account. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription will renew automatically.

  • Price Changes. Prices may change. We or the Stores will provide notice consistent with Store policies before any change takes effect.

  • Restore Purchases (iOS). You can restore eligible purchases when you change devices using the Store account that made the original purchase.

  • Taxes. Prices may include applicable taxes (e.g., VAT) or taxes may be collected by the Stores.

  • Refunds/Disputes. Refunds and purchase disputes are handled solely by the Stores under their policies.

  • Payment Data. We do not process or store your payment card details.
     

6. User Content and License

  • You retain ownership of the content you upload to the App (e.g., PDFs, images, notes) (“User Content”).

  • To operate the App and provide its features, you grant us a worldwide, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, non‑sublicensable, royalty‑free license to host, reproduce, process, analyze, transform, generate derivative outputs (AI outputs), and display your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the App and only for the duration necessary to provide the App (including reasonable back‑ups and logs).

  • We do not use User Content for advertising and do not use it to train our own foundation models.

  • You are responsible for the legality of your User Content. Do not upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content.

  • You may delete your User Content at any time. Subject to legal retention obligations, we delete associated personal data within 30 days after deletion or account closure.
     

7. AI Outputs, Academic Integrity, and Acceptable Use

  • AI-generated summaries, quizzes, hints, or other outputs may contain errors or inaccuracies and are provided without any warranty of correctness. The App does not guarantee exam success or specific learning outcomes.

  • You must not use the App to cheat or to violate academic integrity or institutional policies.

  • You may not upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing content; harass, threaten, or abuse others; or impersonate any person.

  • You may not attempt to bypass security, exceed rate limits, reverse-engineer the App, interfere with servers or networks, scrape/automate access, or access accounts/non-public areas without authorization.

  • You may not offer, resell, or use the App as part of a commercial service without our prior written consent.

  • Report suspected abuse to info@lazyliz.app
     

8. Intellectual Property

Except for User Content, the App and all related materials (including software, UI/UX, graphics, text, trademarks, and logos) are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable license to use the App for personal, educational purposes in accordance with these Terms.

9. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR‑FREE OPERATION, NOR THE ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF ANY AI OUTPUTS. THE APP IS FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY AND DOES NOT CONSTITUTE PROFESSIONAL ADVICE.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or revenues, arising from or related to your use of the App. Our total aggregate liability for any claims under these Terms shall be limited to the amounts you paid for the App during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time.

Upon account deletion, your personal data and user-uploaded content are permanently deleted from our active systems.

Backup copies maintained by our service providers (e.g., Google Firebase) may persist for a limited period in accordance with their standard data-retention policies before being automatically overwritten.

Store subscriptions must be canceled separately through the relevant Store.

12. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify the App or these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms in the App or on our website. Your continued use after the “Last Updated” date means you accept the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict of law rules. Mandatory consumer protection rights in your country of residence remain unaffected. The courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul, Türkiye shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.
